FAQS

What is Polished Concrete?
Polished concrete is concrete that has been treated with a chemical densifier and ground with progressively finer grinding tools. The grinding tools are usually progressive grits of diamond grinding cup wheels and diamond polishing pads.[1] Typically, concrete is not considered polished before 400 grit, and it is normally finished to either the 800, 1500, or 3000 grit level. Stains and dyes are often applied to enhance polished concrete.
What are the benefits of Polished Concrete?
Polished concrete is the new way to get a beautiful, reflective, and low-maintenance flooring. Polished concrete reduces dust mite and allergen problems, and does not support mold growth. Almost all concrete slabs can be transformed into polished concrete. Polished concrete is stronger, denser, and more durable than other surfaces. It is also highly attractive, and minimal maintenance is required. A concrete floor that has been hardened and polished will have an extremely long life expectancy compared to other flooring.
 Are Polished Concrete floors slippery?
Polished concrete floors may look as smooth as glass, but they are completely safe to walk on when kept clean and dry.

What make Polished Concrete so durable?
Polished concrete gets its durability two ways, first, a chemical hardener penetrates the surface to reharden the soft, eroded concrete. Secondly, the use of polishing equipment and high quality diamond imbedded resin pads create a smooth, hard non-porous surface.
Does Polished Concrete become dull with time?
With routine, proper maintenance, polished concrete floors will last on average 7 to 10 years or more before a re-polish may be needed.
How do I maintain my Polished Concrete floors?
*Daily dust mopping removes the fine dust and grit that can act as sandpaper grinding away the floor finish. The best results can be obtained by using a Micro-Fiber Dust Mop
*To clean a polished floor, use water and a cleaner made for polished concrete or a Neutral P.H. all-purpose cleaner
*When using a buffer or auto scrubber only use a very soft bristle brush, white pad or beige pad. All other color pads will result in a decrease of gloss
*Do not wax a polished floor. Polished concrete is a low maintenance floor
*DO NOT USE ANY DEGREASER OR ACID BASED CLEANERS *
